About Flossy
Flossy is a dear girl, who tragically found herself at the pound at the age of 15. She’s probably wondering what she ever did to be abandoned by an owner who she’s devoted her love and life to. This poor darling was left at the freezing cold pound to die, instead of seeing out the last of her days snuggled up in comfort as she should be. We don't even know what her real name is. It breaks my heart to see her look at every passing car, waiting for them to come and take her home. This amazing girl deserves somewhere special to enjoy her winter years. . . Floss has been with me for the last 2 weeks and i can honestly say she is a treasure. As soon as we met at the vets she greeted me with a kiss and a tail-wag. This is her response to every new person she meets. Floss is a happy, confident girl with a passion for life. She loves exploring the backyard. Whilst she is obviously an older girl i am constantly amazed by her exuberance and enthusiasm. . . This delightful girl is estimated to be 15 to 18 years young and has health issues that you would anticipate in a senior dog. Despite this, she appears to be in remarkably good health and spirits. Her appetite is healthy- as is her weight. Her coat is thick and soft to touch, which is lucky because she is very cuddly. Whilst she has cataracts in both eyes, she can still see and is not having any difficulty with vision-impaired collisions. She may have some hearing loss but this doesn’t interfere with her living life to the fullest. . . I was advised by the vet that flossy has incontinence issues (to be expected in a dog of her age) and she is currently medicated for this. Having said that, she has only had the occasional accident in my house- and only when she has been left inside without a toilet walk for too long. Floss lets me know when she needs to go to the toilet and we manage this quite easily with four or five short visits to the yard through the day. When she has had an accident it has been on the tiles near the back door. Ideally, she will be rehomed where she has access to the yard all day, such as a doggy door or open back door, so this won’t be a concern. . . Flossy is very affectionate and people oriented. She loves pats, cuddles and just to be around you. I have a very timid female dog and there have been absolutely no signs of aggression at all. In fact, floss often goes up and gives honey a kiss. They share space day and night, walk together and eat in the same room. I never leave them unsupervised during meal time but have never seen her show signs of food aggression. I am able to take food from her with no complaints. . . This precious senior would love nothing more than a loving human, a comfy bed, a sunny verandah, and little yard to potter around in. No-one deserves it more. She would be best suited as an only dog or with quieter k9 companions. Please consider darling flossy- you will be rewarded with unconditional love and devotion. *** please see more photos of flossy at http://tinyurl.
