Vita

Quite a self-contained young lady & most definitely not a “naughty tortie,” vita is named for bloomsbury set’s vita sackville west. Sisters ginny & violet take their names from virginia woolfe & violet trefussis. A very tiny little kitten when she arrived, vita was so heavily infested with parasites that, despite immediate treatment, it was three weeks before she could gain any nutrition from her food & begin to gain weight. She also had several bouts of minor snuffles. Although she has become a gold medal pill-spitter, vita endured a lot of indignities as consequences of her poor condition, not least of which were daily baths for ringworm with stoicism & minimal complaint, & provided comfort to her much less heroic brother, tancredi. Still it was wonderful to see her gaining weight & racketing around with great joie de vivre at last! her favourite toys are small mice whose leather tails she removes before belting them across the room & under the furniture. Lots of small household items go missing as a result of similar treatment while vita maintains a look of complete innocence or pretends to be asleep!
