Ava (On Trial)

Are you the special person prepared to give ava the forever home she deserves? ava is a lovely, quiet, gentle 3. 5 year old pure bred shih tzu. She is very timid and wary of strangers but once she gets to know and trust you she wants to be your friend. . . Ava was raised in a puppy farm where she had lived her life in a cage in a shed. When the puppy farm was closed down she was “rescued”, along with 40 other dogs. Tragically, ava ended up in a similar situation with another breeder. When rescued by dog rescue newcastle she was fostered in temporary accommodation before coming to us. All this trauma had its effect and it has taken us six months to gain her trust. Now ava just loves to sit with brenda, and this is a big achievement for her. Ava, like all the dogs we have had from this puppy farm, is still a bit wary of males. . . Ava is house trained and learning to come when called. She has learnt to walk on a lead and now runs up to have her harness put on. She is friendly with other dogs we meet when walking but she especially loves maddy, her soul mate from the same puppy farm. The two of them wrestle, play tug-of-war with rope toys and run until they flop down together and snooze. Ava is now ready to take her next big step and go to her forever home. She will need someone with a lot of patience and time to gain her trust. Ava would make an ideal companion for a quiet retired person as she is timid with children.
