About Wee Jock
I am trying a new home to see if i like it. Wee jock came from renbury farm pound a short time ago and it was noted by the vet at the time of his consultation that the little fellow had quite a significant heart murmur so we were advised to take him to sash (small animal specialist hospital) for a diagnosis. Wee jock has now been to see cardiologist dr rita singh who did an echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) which showed that wee jock does indeed have a hole in his aorta. In addition, his tricuspid valve is slightly malformed and he has a ridge of tissue below the aortic valve causing stenosis (subaortic stenosis). Unfortunately there is no correctional procedure or surgery that can be done for wee jock, nor is there any medication that will improve these conditions so wee jock's lifespan will be significantly reduced. As these conditions are very rare, and in order to help other dogs who present with these symptoms in the future, dr singh will chart wee jock's progress and he will go back to see her in six months time for another echocardiogram to see how the condition is progressing. Dr singh will also consult with her mentor in the usa and send over pictures of wee jock's heart in order to gain more information from him. Unfortunately because of wee jock's prognosis we are unable to rehome him so we are hoping that a kind person will come forward and take wee jock into their hearts for whatever time he has left. Wee jock is certainly no shrinking violet at this stage! he loves playing with the dogs he is in foster care with and can go for a daily walk, in fact he can do anything that he wants to do! wee jock is here for a good time no a long time and has no idea that there is anything wrong at all. If wee jock is lucky enough to find a wonderful home with another young and playful dog, paws will cover all veterinary costs for the remainder of his life. Wee jock comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, on heartworm prevention and with nsw local council lifetime registration for the special adoption fee of $0 and is not available for adoption outside nsw. If you would like more information on wee jock or to arrange to meet him, please phone denise on 0466 690916 or email using adoption enquiry as your subject heading.
