About Max
Max and three other guinea pigs were apparently dumped on someone, who then took them to the pound. The pound were kind enough to contact us so we could rescue them, as they otherwise would not have survived for much longer. All boys are extremely thin and mite infested. They've had a dose of revolution, and are on a course of baycox to rule out coccidiosis being the cause of their malnutrition. However it is most likely a simple case of them being starved, or given a completely inappropriate diet. Max has had a great time at the shelter for the past 5 weeks, where he has gained over 35% of his initial body weight. He is no longer a walking skeleton, however is still on the thin side. He is on the right track, and will continue to fill out. His teeth have grown back so he can now eat vegetables without having them cut up, and has developed a very cheeky and adorable character. No longer scared or timid, he races out of his hutch when he hears you coming, begging for treats and squeeking with delight. He loves ramps, and spends a lot of time racing up and down them for fun. He also loves to sit ontop of igloos and survey everything from the height. Max is paired with lemonade, and the two boys are looking for a home together. They get along really well, however should not travel in the same carry cage. If you would like to adopt max and lemonade, please fill in an adoption form at: www. Porschesrescue. Com
