About Millie
Millie has a great personality, is a real sweetie and has been a pleasure to foster. She is a very sooky cuddly type who lives for cuddles and gets great pleasure in seeing you come through the door. Millie likes to sleep and eat a lot and is most happy when she has the company of humans. She is never more than 2 metres from my feet. Millie definitely needs to sleep inside and the closer to her owner the better. She’d hate being locked in the laundry, and if left outside she would most likely cry and howl all night. Currently she sleeps in a doggy matt with a blanket and pillow in the family room (spoilt). Millie enjoys walks but doesn’t need every day. She can be let off the lead in suitable areas. Is a great swimmer and will head for a swim at every opportunity. Although she has been living with another female dog, she is the dominant of the two so would not be suitable in a house where there is another dominant female dog (she likes to assert her authority). She is great with kids unless they hurt her and in this case she may snap (not attack). She has been hurt in the past and has a low tolerance to pain. However she has been around many kids all ages and tends to love them as much as adults (as long as she gets cuddles or food from them). Millie is a real pleaser – she just wants to be loved so will generally do as she is told. She is a very sensitive dog who knows when she’s been naughty and feels it. She has had to be taught to wee outside as she obviously had never been taught to do that. Now she will wee on demand at any time. She came with 2 infected ears, 1 infected ear lobe and sore hips. She is in good health now. Her back leg sometimes shakes after a long walk but there is no degeneration as she has been x-rayed. She is in much less pain than she ever was, i don’t notice her yelps of pain like i did at the start. I get the feeling she may have been kicked in the past as sometimes she will yelp and wince even if not touched. She’s come a long way. She tends to fall asleep if home alone and causes no trouble. She likes to be around people though so she wouldn’t be happy around full time workers. A family with older (5 years) kids, retired couple, would prefer no other dogs or another male dog
Medical notes
