About Bugsy Malone
The name’s bugsy…. Bugsy malone. You can just call me bugsy or bugs or anything really, it doesn’t matter anyway. I won’t come on command – i’m a cat…. . Unless there is food or pats or food or catnip toys. . . And did i mention food?
now my background…you see i’ve had a bit of a rough start to life. At 6 months old i ended up in a sydney pound; i was microchipped, but my old owners just never came back to get me. I sat in that cage for almost a month. Everyone told me that i was handsome but no one ever came back for me to take me home with them. I was getting restless being locked up so long. It wasn’t fair. The girls at the pound treated me right and didn’t want to see me die so they plastered my spunky face all over facebook in hope that someone would fall in love with my charm and good looks. D-day finally came and things were looking grim – that was until our lives were spared for another 24 hours! d-day had been postponed until the next day. Little did i know that far, far away in melbourne, victoria, a kind young lady was sitting in front of her computer screen admiring my mug shots. My mesmerising eyes must have put her in a trance or into a hypnotic state cos when i woke up the next morning, i was told that a rescue group in melbourne wanted to save me! but…. I wasn’t out of the dark yet. The pound couldn’t hold me for any longer so my new foster mum had to find someone in sydney who could look after me until they could arrange transport to my new foster home. Someone special was looking out for me that day cos just in the nick of time, an angel lady offered to pick me up and kitty-sit me for a week. Wahooooooooooo freedom!
road-trip time!
a week later i was finally in my new foster home! i had to spend a bit of time in isolation so i didn’t make the other kitties sick –being locked up for so long was making me coo-coo. My foster mum sometimes calls me a ‘nutcase’. I’m not sure what that means but she says i’m the way i am cos i’ve had a rough life. I get a bit silly and too excited and sometimes i play bite and scratch, which can hurt her. It’s not my fault though, just a bit of energy and testosterone build up…. . But don’t worry, my foster mum is working on teaching me my manners and hopefully i’ll be a good kitty in no time!
my ideal future home would be :
*one where i can stay indoors as i have a pink nose and pink ears which are highly susceptible to skin cancer or an outdoor enclosure where i can spend time out of the sun and won’t be able to run away and be naughty and start cat fights. *where there are no other cats currently living –i like to tease the bigger cats by chasing them and starting fights and i am a little too rough for the baby cats…. . But my foster mum is working on my interaction skills and will regularly update my progress. She thinks i may be ok with dogs. *a child-less home as i am a bit of a rough boy, but as i said earlier, my foster mum is helping me with my manners and i may become a good boy soon. My foster mum says i’m still a work in progress but if you are willing to be patient and spend the time with me to work on my problems, she is more than happy for me to go for a trial in my new home!
