About Charlie - On Hold!
*update 14/5/12*
wow, we're all super surprised that charlie hasn't been snapped up yet, he's such a ripper of a little dog! please don't be put off by his heart condition, almost all cavaliers develop murmurs at some point in their lives and there is no reason to think charlie won't live a long and happy life!
he would certainly love to start his new life in his forever home, so if you're looking for a lovely, happy, dog and cat friendly boy who is great will kids and a joy to have around, please consider our gorgeous charlie boy!
---------------------------------------------
charlie is the definition of a lap dog! nothing makes charlie happier than being by your side or on your lap. He will charm you with his personality and work his way into any gap he can if it means being close to you. Charlie is very social and enjoys both human and doggy company. He enjoys walks, going to the park and is very good at travelling in the car. Charlie’s favourite past time is curling up on the lounge and having a doggy nap. He will happily sleep (and snore) next to you for hours on end if you are there beside him. He truly is all you could ask for in a companion!
charlie does suffer from some slight back stiffness and needs to be picked up slowly and gently as sudden jerks can make him yelp. **update: this no longer seems to be an issue for charlie and we suspect he may have been handled roughly in his previous home, causing some inflammation which has now been treated and his back now seems fine** due to this, he would be best suited to an adult only home, **update: charlie is currently in foster care with a 5 year old boy and a teenager and he loves the attention from the kids. As such, we feel he would be well suited to a home with gentle children who understand that animals are not toys!** charlie would be happy to share his home with another small dog and he has recently learnt to live with a calm, tolerant cat. **update: charlie is sharing his foster home with several cats now and is for the most part very well behaved apart from the occasional game of one sided chasy!**
he enjoys the finer luxuries in life and would be best suited to a mostly indoor home where he can have his bed close to his owner’s bed. Charlie currently has a grade 3 heart murmur, which does not require medication or affect his daily life, but will need to be monitored over time. While charlie only needs a daily walk, he copes well with 2 walks a day and a weekly run down at the dog pens in his foster home, so is suitable for people of most activity levels. In all, charlie is the teddy bear of dogs- he just loves to be loved and in return will shower you with his love, affection and companionship. If charlie sounds like the kind, gentle companion you’ve been looking for please email for an adoption questionnaire to find out if charlie could be your new best friend!
Medical notes
