On Hold
About Little Millie (On hold pending adoption 10/12/12)
---- Adoption Fee paid and will be adopted on 11/12 ---
Little Millie is a 3 year old silky terrier cross girl. She's is an adorable little sweetheart only weighing 4. 4kg who just wants to be shown lots of love and affection. Millie suffers from anxiety and when she feels anxious she runs in circles which has turned into an obsessive compulsive disorder. She is currently on medication to help with this and also starting some behavioural modification training and this will need to be ongoing. The medication isn't expensive (approx $45 for 3 months).
The perfect home for Millie would be with a more mature person with no small children and with someone who will be home alot in order to help continue building millie's confidence. Millie would definitely need to be an inside dog with access to the yard.
Millie likes other smaller, older, calmer dogs once she gets to know them and will then enjoy some play time. She is not a fan of the lead and will still need ongoing training but with time and patience i am sure she will learn to enjoy this. When Millie is scared she has had the odd toilet accident inside the house but when she feels comfortable she will overcome this.
Millie just wants to find that special someone who will shower her with love and devotion and someone who is determined to give her the best life possible. We know that special person is out there. Could it be you?.
Millie is in foster care in Elermore Vale, NSW (Newcastle). For more information or to meet Millie please phone foster carer Michelle on 0417 432 012.
Dog Rescue Newcastle www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Millie's special $200 adoption fee covers the dog's desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.
Medical notes
Young and healthy but needs ongoing treatment for anxiety (which costs only $45 for 3 1/2 months)
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
