About Trigger (On Trial)
On trial in a new home 24/6/12. Please consider our other dogs at www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au particularly rusty. . . Trigger is a stunning caramel and white cattle dog, aged around 3 years, he’s a big boy with an equally big heart, a very gentle and wise nature, and a joyous outlook on life. . . Although he is a working dog breed, it’s hard to imagine trigger out herding the cows. He sees himself more as an important member of the family, a loving and loyal companion, protector of property, chaser of balls, and supervisor of other dogs in his home. In fact, i’m pretty sure he thinks he’s a person! he is extremely intelligent and intuitive, sensing your moods, watching you closely and anticipating your next move. You only have to point and say “go over there”, and even though he has never been trained to understand the words and recognise the hand gesture, he will go where you indicate. . . Trigger is a gorgeous looking dog. He may be crossed with something, but not sure what. He gets along well with other dogs, big and small, in his foster carer’s home, but because of his size, other dogs have naturally deferred to him and accepted him as the boss without question. He likes the rank, but seems to rule the pack by using his size and a bit of noise. He keeps them all in line, but has never hurt any of them. Whenever treats are being offered, he expects to be first served; that said, he seems to radiate gentleness, and maintains a calm and confident manner. He loves to play – either chasing balls or chasing and wrestling other dogs at his foster carer’s home, and seems to believe that only good things are coming his way. I have seen him skipping around like a puppy in his joy to be running free and sharing a game, but he doesn’t become overly boisterous or excitable. He likes children, but would be best suited to a home with older children because of his size. He behaves well in the car, but could do with a bit more training for walking on lead – because he is so strong he needs a firm hand at that time. . . Trigger would not be suited to a home where he would be left alone for long periods; he is too intelligent, and would become bored. His ideal home would be with people who will make him part of the family, as he so longs to be, and involve him in their activities, throw the ball for him, take him out with them, and give him the life he deserves. They will be rewarded with a truly special dog!. . Dog rescue newcastle www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation.
