Eddie (On Trial)

Eddie is a small 18 month old dachshund mix, only 5kgs. He has mastered all basic commands: sit, come, stay and walks well on a lead. He greets other dogs in a friendly and curious manner. He is not a barker! but will bark when he sees big dogs as these can be a bit scary for a little guy. After our morning walk we leave him and his brother (also available for adoption) at home in the sun room, with access to the garden, and they are fine all day. When we arrive home, they are full of joy and can't wait to greet us. It's so nice to come and receive such a happy welcome!. . . We have 2 children, 9 and 12 years old, and eddie is great with them. When he first came to us he was frightened of them but now he is very trusting, happy and relaxed. He loves home cooked food and raw bones and meat. He's not so keen on raw chicken. For breakfast he loves weetbix in milk with water and raw meat. . . Eddie has a short, soft, coat which just needs the occasional bath and brushing. He is very easy to bath him as he stands still in the bath as long as you want to wash him. He doesn't like the hairdryer afterwards though. . . He hates wet weather and likes to stay inside rather going into the garden. Has his sleeping place on a dog cushion on top of an armchair in the living room. Eddie is an inside dog and must be allowed inside when people are home and to sleep inside. He is fully housetrained of course. . . Eddie loves the beach but doesn't go in the surf as it is all new to him. Eddie and his brother play very nicely together and respect each other's food bowls so he'd be great with other dogs. . . Eddie is a real darling. A very healthy, happy, and hardy little guy who is a perfect size for everyone from children to retirees. It'd be nice if eddie could go to a forever home where he will have another dog for company or else where someone is home at least part of the day so he doesn't get lonely. *** please see more photos of eddie at http://tinyurl.
