About Bailey7859
Bailey is a friendly but nervous and shy kelpie. Unlike a typical dog of his breed, bailey is afraid of new experiences and loud/boisterous activities, like ball play and running around. He is eager to please, with a good recall, sit and lovely cuddles, however he hasn't learned many of life's lessons - especially the positive ones (like ball play is fun!) - so he needs an owner who can provide a calm home with plenty of patience to help settle him in/train him by rewarding him for positive, confident behaviour. Gym buddy - bailey would delight in learning a daily exercise routine with lots of positive experiences. Active mind - kelpie's have a quick intelligence and an active mind, providing positive mental stimulation daily would help greatly in boosting bailey's confidence (teaching fetch, agility courses, commands like sit, drop, stay) house mate - he loves to have company and a quiet cuddle, so would be a good indoor/outdoor dog. Loves to lay at your feet. No wire fencing/gaps - to reduce stress by limiting what he can see outside the fenceline, his nervous behaviour can drive him to try to escape, so solid, no gap fencing is required. Timid dog, would suit a more settled home with older children - staff discretion. Requires further basic training/classes to build confidence and also teach his new owners how to reward him for the right behaviour. Social with other dogs however can be submissive/nervous, would suit a home with or without an existing dog - please bring your pooch and kids along to meet bailey if you think you would like to adopt him!
