Perrito (Perri) **Adoption in Progress**

This super little dog was surrendered to us recently after his owners realised they weren’t able to supply the companionship he needs. This boy is a perfect example of why people should not give animals as gifts. Although perri has been well cared for he was not allowed indoors with his family and so has spent his first 12 months pretty much on his own in a backyard. Perri adores people, specially children, he loves kids so much he jumps up and covers them with kisses!

perri also adores other dogs and will play for hours with a playmate his own size and energy level. Perritio was very over-the-top as far as energy goes when he first arrived in his foster home. But after just 10 days he is getting calmer and learning not to jump up for attention. I have spent some time with treats and obedience training and perri responds beautifully, he has huge potential for any sort of dog agility and sports, he will chase a ball but isn’t overly interested in them, he is more people orientated. Because of perrito’s background he has not been walked or trained on a lead but his foster carer is working on that too. More work in progress, but i’m sure every minute spend with this boy is well worth it!

perri’s ideal home is one where there are older dog-wise children who can help with his training and a family or couple who understand that he does need ongoing obedience training and firm leadership. Perri loves to be with his people and does suffer from mild separation anxiety, although he is improving as he gains confidence in his foster home.
