Gus (On Trial)

On trial in a new home 9/3/12. Please consider our other dogs at www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au particularly ricky and bossy. . . Gus is a 2 yo cattle dog mix. He has an excellent temperament, is very quiet, rarely barks. He loves to play ball. He chews his toys but not my shoes! in 2 days gus learned to 'sit', 'lay down' and 'sit on the mat'. He responds so well to food rewards and kind words. He is very loving and beautiful boy. . . Gus will need someone who is willing to put in time with him but learns quite easily and wants to please. He just wants to be loved. He is very friendly, energetic, and playful. He gets on well with the our other dog, a small maltese cross, and is not at all aggressive. . . Gus is happy to wear a harness and enjoys his walks. He still needs more experience with walking on his lead but doesn't pull and responds well to voice. He dislikes hopping in the car but i think gentle coaxing, food rewards and gaining his trust will overcome this. . . Gus settled into foster care very quickly and i'm sure he'll do the same in his forever home. Overall, gus is an excellent boy who will grow into an excellent dog.
