Who is belle?

very little is known about belle before she came into awr’s care. We do know that she has had a rough, isolated life & was used as a breeding bitch. Even though belle has experience such a deprived life, she is very much a lover of life & people in it. Belle is not known for being reserved & understanding of others personal space is not her strong point. She is very forward, with a “here i am” personality. Even though belle is 8 years old, she has the attitude & energy similar to a mature puppy. She loves playing with balls & goes mad for squeaky toys. Her toys must be indestructible, otherwise belle will have them chewed down to eating size, in no time flat. Her basic training is still in progress with sit & stay. However belle has learnt to eagerly come when her name is called & wander nearby when off lead (quite easy as she enjoys human company). She loves attention being directed at her, especially if it involves cuddles, pats & belly rubs. However belle is not to be over indulged, otherwise she will begin to expect it more often. This is not to say that this gorgeous girl isn’t happy doing her own thing. Far from it. She is quite content in keeping herself entertained with her toys or napping nearby when you’re otherwise occupied. Belle does love her food & is quite willing to try new things eg. Carrots, apples etc. She has beautiful food manners when eating from your hand. However she can feel slightly insecure when eating from her bowl with other animals around her. If you can’t supervise feeding time, it is recommended that belle be fed separately from other animals. She is known for easily being distracted in search of what you’re up to & leave her bowl of food, which can give ideas of other dogs taking advantage of this. Belle does enjoy the company of other dogs. Her funny, cheeky personality makes her an ideal second doggy playmate & companion. Ideally suiting a more reserved canine companion. This is so that they aren’t likely to compete against one another, for their owner’s attention. Whoever adopts this beautiful girl, will truly know what it is like to be adored & loved. You can’t help but relax & laugh when playing with her. She teaches you how to stop & smell the roses & really enjoy life. You can’t help but love her. Health history. Awr has no previous veterinary history, until belle came into awr’s care. Both of her ears have been successfully treated for inner ear infection. Due to numerous mammary tumours, a total mastectomy was performed on belle to make sure that all mammary tumours were removed. Her chest x-ray came back clear of any signs of tumours that may have spread. She was also desexed during this operation. Belle has no other known health problems that awr & our vet are aware of.
