About Boss
Great news boss went to his new home today and will be getting very spoilt. Good luck boss you're one very well behaved boy, your new owners are lucky
hi my name is boss and i'm 3 years old. I'm a good boy i can sit, stay, drop & i'm not too bad on the lead. I'm quiet and not destructive in my run. I've got a beautiful body and linda said i'm a real sweetie. Bet you can't do what i can do with my tongue. My notes are below from where i've been staying;
full body touch: allowed
health: maybe a little underweight, but other than that he seems to be in good health. Personality: i found boss to be a bit shy and timid in his pen. He was also pretty quiet outside, though did love exploring the yard. It is only his second day in the pound so he’s probably still getting used to the environment. A couple of times he put his front paws on the fence and gate as though trying to jump out, so will probably need high fences. He may also have just been trying to see something over the top. He took treats gently from my hand and was able to be patted when eating from a bowl on the ground. He liked to rub his body up against one particular bush in the yard, more so than the others. He only jumped on me once or twice, usually after i gave him lots of praise for obeying a command. He also enjoyed greeting new people when they pulled up in the car park. Lead training: both on the way out of the pound and on the way back in, he seemed a little hesitant to have the choker chain put on him but was okay once we started walking. He walked ahead and did pull a bit so needs training with this. Formal training: he knows “come,” “sit” and “stay,” but needs reinforcement with these as he doesn’t always obey. He also comes to his name most of the time. Other dogs: he was unable to be tested one-on-one with any other dogs, but his reactions to other dogs behind fences and gates was noted. A german shepherd was on the back of a ute leaving the pound and boss ran along the fence near the road to greet it. Boss didn’t bark but he had his tail raised. He did bark aggressively at another dog through the gate on our way back into the pound. He will need further testing with this, as he was unable to be tested one-on-one. Toy/child test: he wasn’t interested in the toys. Startle test: he startled at sudden noise and sudden movement, and took some time to recover. Overall opinion: boss is a quiet, slightly timid boy who needs a little tlc and some reinforcement training. He may also need further socialisation with other dogs.
