About Pixie *On Trial*
*pixie is currently trialling her new home* this lovely little fluffball is pixie and she’s looking for a new home after “doing time” in our local pound as she was picked up wandering the streets of mildura. Now she’s safe in foster care while we search for a forever home who’ll love pixie to bits and never leave her behind in a pound again!!
all pixie wants from life is to give and receive cuddles!! she loves to sit on your knee no matter what you are doing so lucky she weighs less than 3kgs and is as light as a feather. When she’s not on your lap she likes following you around helping with the daily chores. Pixie is enjoying being pampered by her carers young teenage daughters and she is getting along fine with the household’s 2 male kelpie x’s even telling them off when they get too loud and boisterous. She was good with any little dogs she was introduced to while still in the pound (she was sharing a pen with a puppy who was bigger than her!) though we’re not sure how she is with cats as her carer doesn’t have any though we can easily find out by taking pixie to visit some of our cat-friendly doggie homes if required. We don’t think much time was ever put into her training so she is learning to “sit” for treats and is discovering the joys of going for walks on a lead. As pixie is about two-thirds chinese crested powder puff, according to our vets, her hair is quite sparse so her new owner will need to be mindful of her delicate skin in the sun and depending on the climate she may need to wear little jumpers in the cooler months to keep her warm. Pretty little pixie doesn’t shed much hair though she’ll require a good brush and a bath every now and then and she may require the occasional trim to keep her looking gorgeous. Secure fencing, chicken necks to chew on, toys to play with and a lap to snuggle on will make pixie very happy indeed!
as this lovely little lapdog is already housetrained and sleeps inside she’d be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a nice friendly doggie or on her own but only if she won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially while she settles into her new home.
