About Sheppie - On Hold
This boy was literally saved by a phone call. He was so skinny and frightened, that he looked like he had the weight of the world on his back. Everything we tried to feed him went straight through him probably because he hadn’t been fed for a while. He was at the vets to be put to sleep but wodonga dog rescue really wanted to give him a go, so we got him back at the very last minute. How lucky was he!!
we have had him in care for a couple of weeks and from a dog that was skin and bone and sitting in the pound cowering in the corner, he has turned around 180%. He is now in foster care with puppies, adult dogs, male and female and he has been fantastic. I wouldn't be surprised if he has doubled in weight. He runs around like a puppy and plays with the other dogs like a puppy. He is still not 100% with adult male dogs but he is pretty good, and, he hasn't been desexed as yet (as he still has some weight to gain, as soon as he is back to health this will happen, and sheppie will not be rehomed prior to this).
he is great on the lead. He is crate trained although he doesn't always like it. He is good in the yard when you are not there. He is happy on his own and happy with other dogs during the day. He still needs time and work and would be a great companion for someone who is happy to follow through with training and obedience. He has had some basic training and he is a very loyal boy.
