About Holly
Holly is a 9 year old female who has special needs. Holly is deaf and almost blind but has the most beautiful temperament, she is a gentle soul. Holly is looking for that special home that will accept her needs and work with her to make her life far better than what it used to be. Holly was saved from the pound within hours of being put to sleep and we are so glad she was because you could not ask for a more placid and gentle dog. Holly has taken a few weeks to adjust to the pleasure of living the life she was meant to live, of feeling the softness of the grass as she rolls on it, of knowing she can stay outside in the sun and not be locked out. Each day we see her trusting more, becoming excited when she smells us and learning to trust us as we take her for a walk. We are teaching holly touch signals to help with her walks and her life in our home. Holly is currently living in a home with children aged from 2-18 years, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Cats are not an issue as she cannot see them or hear them, our cat wonders why holly doesn’t chase her. Holly would like to play with the other dogs but is wary due to her special needs but this can be overcome with the right dog and the right environment, with lots of patience and lots of love. We are also teaching her to fetch which she loves to do. The ideal home for holly would be a home where someone is home a lot during the day as she loves to know where you are and will sit at your feet. Holly needs someone who is willing to take on her special needs and work with her to continue to show her the joys of life. She will quietly sleep on the floor next to your bed at night and when resting during the day she is either at your feet or in her bed, which she absolutely loves. Holly is gentle with our 2 year old son and is great with kids. Holly is a special girl needing that special home with lots of time and lots of love
