About Lucy
This is lucy- you dont often see ginger female kittens, although they are becoming more common. Lucy is gentle and quiet natured, but she came to us incredibly shy and scared of everything. We have had her only a couple of weeks and now she runs up to us purring. She is still skittish with loud noises and the unknown (as to be expected with a little baby) however when you do pick her up she is very calm and happy to sit there in your arms. When it is quiet (when my boxer dog is outside and all other cats and kittens are having a nap) lucy will be all over me like a rash. Purring, head bonking, kisses on the nose, lying up across my shoulder or as close to my chest/neck as she can… and she does this for hours when its quiet. I would say that she feels overwhelmed by loud/outgoing personalities but is coming out of her shell every day. She gets along wonderfully with all the other cats and kittens. She is passive towards them and does not want to ‘ruffle any feathers’. She just wants to be friends. She has gotten a bit tougher being with another foster kitten (jasper) who is also up for adoption as jasper has taught her to play and have a bit of a joke around. She hasnt taken to our boxer dog yet and although we are trying to get her used to her, being a hyperactive boxer its a little hard to convince lucy that she can trust her. I do think though he would be fine with a calmer breed of dog. I think lucy will be a product of her environment – if she is in a quiet household she will probably stay on the quieter side, but if she is in a more interactive household she will become used to that and mould to that environment. Her perfect family would be a single person (with or without another cat or dog to keep her company), a couple who wants an affectionate but quiet cat or a family that has that quiet child/children that needs a pet for a companion. I believe she will bond strongly with whoever she goes to but she won’t suit a loud or active family. Lucy is available to adopt just in time for christmas
