About Cookie (adopted by foster carer 12/2012)
Cookie is a 7 yo terrier mix. He is a lovely little gentleman who loves to give kisses and cuddles. He seems like an old soul and is the most loving and snuggly little man. He is great with kids and always wants to get cuddles from them and give them kisses.
He gets on fine with cats, large and small dogs and really loves snuggles! he will let you know when strangers walk past but once he gets introduced to someone and has a sniff, he is fine.
Cookie is an indoor dog and he loves to play outside during the day when he feels like it. He will need a secure back yard with no gaps under the fence as he is a curious little guy. He will not be good off leash, as I feel he may run off. He is really such a gentle boy; he loves to sleep at the foot of our bed at night and will wake us up some mornings with big kisses.
Cookie would be suited to a home where there is another dog for him to play with or where someone is home the majority of the time so he doesn’t get lonely. . .
Cookie is in foster care in Cessnock, NSW (Hunter Valley wine country) and is available for adoption interstate. For more information or to meet cookie please phone foster carer Renee 0459 699 318.
www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Our $400 adoption fee covers the dog's desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
