About Jessie (On Trial)
On trial in a new home 19/12/11. Please consider our other dogs at www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au. . . Jessie is a 1 year old female, dachshund x bichon frise. She is a very unique looking dog with a long, slender body of a dachshund but with white / cream curly hair of a bichon frise. . . Jessie is a laid back, easy going dog. She loves going for walks and gets very excited when she sees her harness. She is currently in foster care with a male jack russell x silky terrier and the two of them have been having a lovely time! jessie is a very social little girl but still relies on our dog for guidance and reassurance in new situations. She loves to greet people at the door with a big grin on her face and her tail going a hundred miles an hour! ! !
jessie is quite smart and knows where the kitchen is and when it is meal time! she has lovely manners and is happy to wait for her food. She has been enjoying a diet of chicken necks, good quality dry food, mashed vegetables, pasta and scrambled eggs. She also enjoys cheese as a treat! ! !
jessie loves playing with her toys a couple of times each day but after that she is happy to sprawl out for a snooze. She always seems to find the sunny spots in our house and will roll onto her back, legs up in the air and sleep! jessie is happy to be outside but due to her size would need to be a predominantly inside dog. She is currently sleeping in my thirteen year old daughter’s room each night. She is no trouble, she just curls up and goes to sleep till the morning. If allowed, she would love to sleep on the bed too! ! !
jessie has a non-shedding coat which we have been brushing every second day. She will require 3 to 4 trips a year to a doggy parlour to keep her beautiful coat in top condition. . . Jessie is a lovely soul who deserves a loving forever home. It has been a privilege to be her foster family. She would be suited to a family where there is someone home most of the day. She particularly loves the company of older children and would be happy to be an addition to a family who has another dog. . . Due to jessie’s small size she would need to be a predominantly inside dog and sleep inside. Although a big yard wouldn’t be required, a secure one is a must so that she couldn’t wiggle under! ! !
