Izzy

Izzy is a great mum. Came to us because because her owners couldn't care for her anymore and had no milk for her pups. After some tlc, her 4 female pups and she are doing well. From time to time the hardships of motherhood have her pleading for adult time walking with leyla, or just chilling in the main yard, but when it's time to be mum, she's there. Inspections for hygiene and grooming, disciplining when bullying a sister, nudging towards food when they've not seemed to eat enough, mum's word is law. Nowadays we've progressed to more meaty topics like barking at strangers, appropriate growling when playing, wrestling techniques, and most efficient chewing of palm fronds and other miscellaneous items. Mum and pups are now ready for new homes, and izzy would be ideal for a retired or younger couple with a view of having a protective eye over the home. Izzy excels at being an advance early warning system, and will be very protective of her family. She does try to hunt lizards all the time and understands that this is not allowed, being very submissive when told off, showing that she is clever, and sensitive in trying to please her humans. Cats will be tolerated, but only if izzy is constantly told to accept them, or the cat simply accepts that any home izzy is in, cats must obey izzy. She has come a long way in accepting smooches from a cat- her first experience was priceless to watch- but she will always believe her way is the best way to protect her family and home. Having had more than one litter, izzy deserves to have a family where she receives some mothering and protection, as she has done for all her puppies.
