About Gemma *On Trial*
*gemma is currently trialling her new home* meet stunning gemma! she and her 4 pups were surrendered to sarg for rehousing so now that her babies are in their forever homes its time to find somewhere special for gemma. Gemma loves the company of other friendly dogs and would enjoy sharing a home with one. She is housetrained and well-behaved inside as she just loves being with her humans so she’ll need a home where she won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially during her settling in period as all this shifting around can be a bit much on our anxious petal but her carer is working with her. We also feel that gemma would be best suited to someone who’s knows the dalmatian breed. Gemma has been around some children who are fairly timid with dogs and she didn’t seem too fazed by them, she’s definitely not an aggressive dog and tends to adore everyone and everything. Dalmatians can be a little head strong and stubborn so gemma will need a firm leader. She is keen to learn and will “sit” and “stay” most times when asked. Gemma enjoys going for walks on a lead and can get a bit excited about them but all it takes is a firm ‘here’ and she will walk beside you which makes for a more pleasant walk all round. Her carers have bought her a kong toy which she just loves and she seems to have it worked out quite well, as it doesn’t take long for her to get the treats out. She will eat anything- including tomatoes, broccoli and avocados – her carers have never come across a dog that likes fruit and veg so much!
a secure yard, daily walks, bones to chew on, toys to keep her stimulated and humans who’ll make her feel loved and wanted would make affectionate gemma very happy indeed!
if you’ve been looking for the companionship of a wonderful pet who’ll need a bit of patience and spoiling, then please download and complete a sarg dog application form by following this link: http://www. Sarg. Net. Au/adoptapet. Html
please note: when gemma first arrived in care she had terrible ear infections that had been left untreated for years so with the help of our vets and gemma’s wonderful carers it seems to finally be under control though they will need an eye kept on them so it doesn’t reoccur
