About Cheech
I am trying a new home to see if i like it. When cheech came to his foster home his coat was in such bad shape he had to be clipped so short he was practically nude. Now, a few weeks later, his hair is growing back nicely and cheech is loving sunbaking in the yard. Cheech came with another paws dog fred and they were both so terribly frightened of everything they would run away, even from cuddles and pats. After a little coaxing with food treats, cheech now loves pats and makes sure he is there at the door ready and waiting with a wagging tail and a smile on his face, for his hello pat and belly rub when you get home from work. Cheech has come a long way in just a few short weeks and now adores cuddles and tummy rubs. He knows to sit on his 'mat' inside and will even jump up for a cuddle on your knee, something we could not have imagined the cheech that came to us on the first day doing. With a little more time and persistent training cheech is learning to wear a harness (this part is already mastered) and is practicing the feel of the lead just in the backyard for now, but hopefully soon out on a walk. We're sure he will be quick to realise that walks are just as good as pats! cheech is house trained and responds very well to his name and the basic commands 'come', 'out', 'up' and 'down'. With a little more training he will definitely be able to learn more commands and is really starting to show his personality while playing with his doggy foster friend fred. Cheech is a really cute little boy who would be a magnificent addition to a family with older children and another dog to play with (although we're sure would love to go to a new home with fred!) cheech would also make a good solo companion dog for someone who is home most days. Cheech comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, on heartworm prevention and with nsw local council lifetime registration for $400 and is not available for adoption outside nsw. He has also had a recent dental (teeth cleaned under anaesthetic). If you would like more information on cheech or to arrange to meet him, please phone 0466 690916 (between 8am and 7pm only) or email using adoption enquiry as your subject heading. Before phoning or emailing, please check denise's rescued dogs in foster care on www. Paws. Com. Au for any updated photos and to make sure this dog is still available for adoption. Listed 26 october
