Rex

“rex” is a big friendly giant and very lovable. He is 10 years old, which means he is a senior and in the twilight phase of his life. He has the usual side-effects of being a big old dog: slight arthritis in his hips (not that that stops him from walking very well and being very strong) and there’s some wear and tear on his teeth. Rex has a lovely personality, similar to that of a loving grandpa. He is relaxed and mellow in his old age but still very “with it” mentally! he is looking to spend his few remaining years in a comfy home with a relaxed lifestyle. He has low energy needs, in fact he plans on being a couch potato, but will still need fresh air and gentle exercise daily. Behaviourists at awl believe he’d be quite safe around kids; but he doesn’t want to be ridden on! he is good with other animals, he likes other dogs and wouldn’t be fussed by cats and definitely too slow to bother them. Rex is very strong and will need someone who is capable of managing him. He walks well on a lead and is very responsive to his handlers, but his size makes him very strong. He is looking for a loving home and a comfy bed and somebody to love. His new owner should be aware of the need to get regular veterinary check ups to keep him healthy and comfy.
