About Missy (On Trial)
On trial 3/11/1. Please consider our other dogs at www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au particularly lilly and jessie. . . Missy is a 1yo maltese x. She is only small but has a huge heart and a lot of love to give. After a rough to start to life, she has learnt to trust people and has blossomed into a beautiful, cuddly dog. . . Missy loves to meet new people (especially older children) and will roll onto her back for a tummy rub or stand on her back two legs and jump around! who can resist with those eyes looking up at you!. . Missy is in foster care with a male jack russell/silky cross and the two of them have been having a lovely time together. Missy would be suited to a home where she has another dog to play with but she does love getting all the attention to herself and so would be quiet happy being an “only child”!. . . Missy will need to be a predominantly inside dog given her small size. She does enjoy having a sunbake in our yard but loves nothing more than to be near you. Missy currently sleeps in her bed inside but given the opportunity she would gladly sleep on your bed (if allowed). . . Being a maltese x, missy will need a brushing every day or two (something which she is happy to sit on your lap and let you do) and clipping (about once every 2 months) to keep her beautiful coat in perfect condition. The clipping will cost on average $50 so you should be aware of this if you are considering a non-shedding dog. On the plus side, she won't leave hair on your clothing or furniture. . . Missy is very clever. We have taught her to “sit” and she knows the words “into bed. ” \ i suspect she also knows the word “chicken” as it is her favourite food!! missy loves to go for a walk and gets excited when she sees her lead. She also travels well in the car and enjoys looking out the windows. . . Missy isn’t a “yappy” dog and only occasionally barks. Missy is happy to be outside (with doggy door access) when we are not home but it would be wonderful for her to go to a forever home where someone is home for the majority of the week and/or day. The greeting that she gives you when you return is that of a long lost friend! her tail goes crazy and she gets a huge grin on her face! she also loves to give lots of licky “kisses” if allowed! because of missy's size, a secure yard is a must and a yard inspection would be required. . . The pleasure has been all ours in fostering “missy” – or as my children have missyd her “missy-moo. ” she is a beautiful soul and after an awful start to life due to a backyard breeder missy has thrived. The family that adopts her will be blessed with a loyal, best friend for life. . . Dog rescue newcastle www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation.
