About Mj
Mj needs a special family. He is very affectionate and it seems his greatest desire is to spend time with people. He is quick to snuggle in any available lap, doesn’t mind being picked up for cuddles, and even adores very young children. In his short life he has been abandoned by two different owners and, tragically, because of his time on the streets is now fiv positive. He will in all likelihood live a long and happy life with the right person. His fiv status means that he needs to be the only cat in your home and must remain indoors. Please help us find a home for him, a cat this special deserves a special family to love
Medical notes
Feline aids compromises the immune system. This virus is not transferrable to humans or other species like dogs. You would never know that he carries the virus, which is exclusive to cats only. Many cats show no symptoms. In fact many welfare groups in queensland don't test for the virus. Does that mean he has less chance of a long life? let's see. . . He stays indoors, has a good diet, lots of love, i'd say he has a better chance at living to 15 years of age than the average cat who is allowed outside, where their safety and wellness cannot be guaranteed! any cat who is bitten by a cat carrying this virus will become infected. That could be your neighbours cat. . . Who would know?
Feline aids does not mean a death sentence. We know of several fiv positive cats who have lived nearly 20 years! if you'd like to know more about this virus, we have a vet willing to talk to you. If you'd like to meet mj, then you'll be overwhelmed by his love for people and life! mj deserves the chance to live a long and happy life like any other cat!
