About Conan
**conan is adopted**
conan is a highly intelligent dog and quickly picks up on commands and is able to enact them with little practice. He can "sit" and "wait" by the front door whilst you greet guests until told "okay" to come and say hello. He will "stay" out of sight and wait until called if you would like him to. He sits at every road crossing and stays relatively close without being asked when on off lead walks. Conan is happy to meet other dogs but he is shy despite being a shepherd, he doesn't like it when they crowd him (sniffing the “usual hello place”) he finds that a bit obtrusive and will leave the situation. He would love to share his new home with a gentle relaxed dog who is looking for a gentle larger companion. Conan prefers the company of younger dogs, so once he is relaxed can have lots of fun and playtime. Older dogs seem to ooze too much confidence for him as he is just learning manners himself (but doing very well). He is getting used to dog parks where there are lots of dogs and within time will learn that lots of dogs are fun, but we don't want to overhelm him as he is going great. Don't forget, he probably had no interaction with dogs before, so he is doing very well. Conan is growing in confidence everyday, we thank his foster carers very much for helping to develop his personality. He is a fantastic young boy with so much to offer. As for walking on the lead, he is great, will sit at all street corners and will wait for the "ok" to move on. He is a quick learner and enjoying the training. Conan is interested in cats but at this stage, we would prefer him to be rehomed in a non cat household. As he has not been assessed with cats. We believe conan would be best suited to an active person, lively couple or a family with older (teenage) kids. He is a sweet, playful and clever boy who needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to keep him content. He is an exceptionally friendly, loyal dog who is eager to please and quick to learn. He understands where he is and isn't allowed and is good at picking up commands. His coat requires daily grooming as it is currently shedding for summer, but once his new coat comes through he will only need a brush once or twice a week to keep him looking his best.
