About Mickey - Only $50
Mickey is a handsome foxy, very young for his 11 years, and with lovely, jaunty manner. He's very affectionate and adores children and adults alike. He enjoys leisurely walks, and chasing a ball around the yard. Once all the fun and games are over he will happily curl up on the lounge for hours at a time if that is where his person is. He is a very smoochy and affectionate boy who will be the perfect companion for some lonely person. . . Do you know a lonely pensioner or someone who works all day? mickey will be their best friend. Small dogs like mickey typically live to around 16yo so he still has lots of life to live and love to give. He is happy and active. He is best suited to a home without other dogs because he likes all the attention for himself and being a terrier he's going to chase cats and small animals. . . Mickey is housetrained and is a clean boy inside. He needs to be allowed out frequently when he is awake as he tends to drink plenty of water and obviously then needs to wee. A doggy door or open door would be ideal for him. Being a mature gent, mickey needs to sleep indoors as he has a short coat and feels the cold. He loves to have a blanket to snuggle under. . . Mickey has very nice manners, and walks nicely on the lead. He knows “sit” and would enjoy further training. He loves to play fetch! \ he generally comes when called. If he is kept occupied and has company mickey doesn’t tend to bark much. He will let you know if something is out of the ordinary, but otherwise is quiet. He seems happy enough to be left on his own during the day as long as he has ample food and water and perhaps a bone or a chew and some toys. . . Mickey has a heart murmur, which is very common in senior dogs and nothing to worry about. He is not on any medication and doesn’t have any symptoms and he is happy and active. He has been tested for kidney function and he does have some impairment. Again, this hasn’t affected his quality of life at this stage and he is not on medication for that either. It is suggested that mickey be kept on a low-protein diet to ensure that his kidneys are not overworked. He drinks a lot of water, so needs to have a very large bowl available at all times. Other than this, mickey is a happy, active, normal-looking boy! his teeth are good and he has a good appetite. . . Mickey’s ideal forever home would be one where he spends a lot of time indoors with his family/person, although he also enjoys walks and being outside. He adores children and also loves anyone else who will play with him or let him curl up with them on the lounge. Mickey would be ideal for a family who wants a fun but undemanding little mate to take for walks, play ball with, and then curl up the watch tv with. Mickey would also suit an older person who wants some quiet company. . . Because of his age, we are only asking for a small donation for him, say $50, because we want him to go to a loving home to enjoy for the rest of his years. (note: we always do a property check.
