Aries and Monty

Bonded Bro’s

Aries and Monty are 9 year old, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel brothers who have been together all of their lives and they have so many things in common. They share a gentle nature, calm presence, and companionship that most of us could only aspire to. Unfortunately, they also have matching heart murmurs, and both are virtually deaf.

Cavaliers are notorious for having heart murmurs and, as we do not have their history, we do not know if these guys were born with these murmurs or developed them later, but they are showing no signs of any heart issues and have no symptoms at this time.

Both boys came into our care with extensive dental disease, so both have had pretty major dental surgery, resulting in teeth being extracted. Their infected, painful mouths are now fixed, and they are ready to get on with the job of taking up residence on your couch. The added upside to them losing a few teeth is that their tongues now hang out, one on each side, making them look even more adorable!

Aries and Monty enjoy short walks, air conditioning and human company. They are wonderful with other dogs and although they have not been cat tested at this stage, we believe that they would probably be ok with them, and testing can be done if required. They are happy to keep each other company if you have to go out and they are well behaved in the house, car and on lead.

These guys are fine with kids, but they do enjoy the quiet life so a busy family with young kids probably wouldn’t be ideal.

Aries and Monty have come to us quite underweight, but our vet believes that this is a result of their painful mouths. They are eating well and appear to be gaining weight. Their new owners need to be aware that it will take some time before they are looking their best.
