About Bug STA015659
Meet Bug, a stunning gentleman with a sweet nature and a story to tell. Having come to us as a stray, we don't know much about his past, but we do know that life on the streets isn't always easy. Understandably, Bug has learnt to look out for himself, and while he can be an absolute sweetheart, there are times when his defensive side makes an appearance. Beneath that tough exterior is a lovely boy who just needs the right person to understand him.
Bug is looking for a very cat-savvy, experienced human who understands feline body language and knows when to offer affection and, just as importantly, when to give him some space. He isn't a cat who appreciates being pushed beyond his comfort zone, and his new person will need to respect his boundaries and allow him to build trust at his own pace. With patience, consistency and a gentle approach, Bug will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the comforts of a loving home.
Bug's perfect home will be a calm, adult-only household without children or elderly residents, where his needs and boundaries are understood and respected. He needs someone confident, patient and experienced who appreciates that not every cat is a cuddly lap companion, but that doesn't make them any less deserving of love. If you have a soft spot for cats with a little character and the experience to help this handsome fellow feel safe and secure, Bug might just be your perfect match!

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
