Come and Meet Onyx!
Onyx is looking for a special home with someone who understands the importance of clear boundaries, consistency and confident handling.
This little character came into our care after experiencing some behavioural challenges in his previous home. Unfortunately, inconsistent handling had allowed him to develop a few habits that needed addressing.
The good news is that Onyx has already shown encouraging improvement since coming into our care! With clear expectations, consistent boundaries and calm, confident handling, he's beginning to learn that he doesn't need to be the one making all the decisions.
Onyx will need an experienced, patient owner who can continue this progress through positive reinforcement, consistent routines and appropriate boundaries. He is not suited to a home with young children, and his new owners will need to understand that his behavioural improvement is still a work in progress.
He will also require an experienced, patient groomer who is confident handling dogs with behavioural challenges.
We believe Onyx has plenty of potential in the right hands. He's not looking for someone who will let him get away with everything, but rather someone who can offer him the guidance, structure and understanding he needs to become a happier, more settled companion.
If you have experience with dogs who need a little extra guidance and are prepared to put in the time, Onyx may just be your next rewarding companion!
