About Amelia
A quiet soul with big welcome
Amelia is a gentle, reserved girl who is still finding her feet in her foster home. She can be timid and cautious at first, but she is calm, well-mannered and very easy to live with. She is toilet trained and has not shown any destructive behaviour, she is quiet inside and waits patiently for her walks.
Amelia loves her own bed and is happy to give her people space, settling peacefully through the night. She can be left alone for up to four hours, and when you come home she greets you with a joyful burst of zoomies before curling back up again. She has a good appetite and eats very well. She isn’t a big fan of stairs or loud noises such as vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers.
On lead, she walks nicely to heel, enjoys her walks and is calm with other dogs. She is still getting used to busy roads and trams.
Amelia would suit a patient, gentle home in a quiet suburb where she can build her confidence at her own pace. In return, she offers loyal, low-key companionship and the quiet warmth of a true friend.
Amelia is not cat or pocket pet tolerant.

Adoption details
Our greyhounds live in foster homes until they find their adoption home. This introduces them to pet life, toilet-training and they learn how to behave inside the home as well as all the new experiences they get on their daily walks. Many spend time in a home with another dog, children and a few sometimes with a cat.
As a safety net for greyhounds who may not otherwise have a chance at finding a forever home, we do our very best to find the right home to match our greyhounds' needs. If you are interested in Greyhound Adoption or Greyhound Fostering, please complete our On-line Application to help us understand more about you and recommend whether the dog you are applying for matches your lifestyle.
