About Isadora
Isadora has one very polite request: please knock before entering! This lovely lady isn't particularly fond of surprise visitors, but give her a gentle introduction and something delicious, and you might just discover a very sweet girl waiting to say hello.
When Isadora first arrived at our shelter as a stray, she was absolutely overwhelmed. She'd hide away, tremble when approached and occasionally offer a little hiss to let everyone know she wasn't quite ready for visitors.
But slowly, Isadora has been finding her courage. And it turns out, she has a rather affectionate side!
Her favourite discovery so far? Cheek scratches are actually pretty wonderful!
Once she's had a moment to settle, Isadora will happily enjoy creamy treats, lean into gentle pats and even lift her little bottom in the air when the scratches are particularly good. She's also been spotted rolling over and showing off her tummy, looking much more relaxed and comfortable with the people caring for her.
Of course, Isadora still has her nervous moments. She can become frightened when someone approaches too suddenly, and sometimes her little body will tremble while she works out whether everything is safe. A hiss is simply her way of asking you to slow down, and she's already shown us how much more comfortable she becomes when people listen.
The secret to Isadora's heart? No surprises, no rushing and plenty of gentle reassurance.
She'd love a calm, predictable home with someone who understands that building trust takes time. A cosy hiding spot, a quiet room to settle into and gentle, consent-based interactions will help her continue discovering that the world doesn't have to be such a scary place.
And when that cautious little girl finally relaxes, leans into your hand and asks for another cheek scratch? Well, that's a pretty special moment.
Isadora has already shown us that there's a loving little soul behind all those worries. Now she just needs someone patient enough to help her feel safe, comfortable and truly at home.
Isadora is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
