🐾 MEET BETSY & MAGGIE
Some dogs are simply a pleasure to have around, and Betsy and Maggie are two of them.
These beautiful sisters have been together since birth and have lived happily with the same loving family since they were eight weeks old. Now six years of age, they are settled, affectionate and easy-going dogs who are looking for a new home where they can continue sharing their lives.
They are a genuinely lovely pair — placid, patient, friendly and well adjusted.
❤️ TWO HAPPY, CONTENTED GIRLS
Betsy and Maggie have always lived outdoors in a secure suburban garden, where they've been perfectly happy. They sleep together, enjoy each other's company and have a harmonious relationship, with no conflict between them. They are fed separately as part of their established routine.
Both girls are confident, resilient and comfortable with everyday family life. They settle easily when left alone, travel well in the car and are generally quiet, although they will bark appropriately when someone approaches. Their family describes them as excellent watchdogs.
🐕 SOCIAL BUT NOT DEMANDING
Despite their Kelpie heritage, these are not highly strung or demanding dogs.
They enjoy their outings to the off-leash dog park, where they socialise readily with other dogs. They're friendly, relaxed and comfortable in the company of people and other dogs alike.
Both girls attended puppy preschool and respond well to positive encouragement.
👧 WONDERFUL WITH CHILDREN
One of their particularly appealing qualities is their experience with children.
Their family has fostered children over several years, giving Betsy and Maggie plenty of opportunities to demonstrate their patience and gentle natures. They have consistently been kind, tolerant and affectionate with children of different ages.
They're the sort of dependable, good-natured family dogs who are very easy to love.
🏡 THEIR IDEAL HOME
We are looking for a loving home where these sisters can remain together.
They would be very happy in a secure suburban garden or on acreage, with comfortable sheltered sleeping quarters, companionship and regular opportunities for exercise.
Although they've always lived outdoors, there's no reason why Betsy and Maggie couldn't become much-loved indoor companions. They are already accustomed to toileting outside, and given their sensible, adaptable natures, we would expect them to adjust readily to indoor living with a little guidance and a consistent routine. Indeed, we think they'd thoroughly enjoy being part of everyday family life.
Both girls are carrying a extra weight and would benefit from sensible portion control and regular exercise. Otherwise, they are in good health, desexed, vaccinated and receiving annual heartworm prevention.
Their confident, adaptable temperaments should help them make an easy transition to a new family, particularly as they'll have each other for reassurance.
💕 WHY ARE THEY BEING REHOMED?
This is a very reluctant decision by a family who have loved and cared for these girls throughout their lives. Changing family commitments, including the need to spend extended periods interstate helping their daughter and grandchildren, mean they can no longer give Betsy and Maggie the attention and stability they deserve.
There are no behavioural problems prompting their rehoming.
❤️ TWICE THE LOVE
Betsy and Maggie have spent six happy years together, and we'd dearly love them to spend the rest of their lives together too.
They're affectionate without being demanding, sociable without being boisterous, and have the lovely, settled temperaments that come with maturity and a happy upbringing.
If you have room in your home and your heart for two beautiful, devoted sisters, Betsy and Maggie would be wonderful companions.
Please consider giving these lovely girls their next happy chapter — together. ❤️

Medical notes
Betsy and Maggie are in good general health, with no known ongoing medical conditions or regular medications.
Both girls are desexed and fully vaccinated, with their core C3 vaccinations current until December 2028. Their next kennel cough vaccinations and annual heartworm injections are due in December 2026.
They are carrying some excess weight and would benefit from a lower calorie diet and regular exercise.
