Expressions of Interest – Cavalier x Cattle Dog Puppies
Expressions of Interest Now Open | Ready for Their New Homes at 8 Weeks
We are now welcoming expressions of interest for our adorable Cavalier x Cattle Dog puppies!
The puppies are currently 5 weeks old and will be ready to head off to their carefully matched homes at 8 weeks of age. We are starting the process now to get to know prospective families and find the right fit for each puppy.
*Meet the Parents
Mum – The Sweet Cavalier Mix
Mum is a lovely, low-energy Cavalier mix who enjoys meeting new people and other dogs. She has been a wonderful mum to her puppies, and her gentle, easygoing nature is a lovely part of their early upbringing.
Dad – The Cattle Dog Type
Dad is an easy guess as a Cattle Dog type! This is purely by a looks guess. This cross brings the potential for a wonderful combination of companionship, intelligence and an active, curious nature.
As with any crossbreed, individual puppies can inherit different traits from either parent, so their adult personalities, energy levels and appearance will develop as they grow.
*Life So Far
The puppies are being raised in a busy, multi-dog household, giving them plenty of opportunities to experience everyday life around people and other dogs.
They love exploring their surroundings, investigating the massive adult dog beds, discovering the abundance of toys and following people around the house on their tiny, stumpy legs!
They enjoy being around people and are already showing an interest in the world around them. We will continue supporting their development and exposing them to appropriate experiences as they grow, helping prepare them for the transition into their new homes.
*Expected Adult Size
At just 4 weeks old, the puppies weighed approximately 1.5 kg. Mum weighs around 14 kg, and based on their current size and parentage, we expect the puppies to remain under approximately 20 kg as adults.
This is an estimate rather than a guarantee, as growth rates and adult size can vary.
*What Kind of Home Are We Looking For?
These puppies may suit families looking for an affectionate companion who enjoys being part of everyday family life. However, prospective adopters should be prepared for the possibility of inheriting some of the Cattle Dog's intelligence, energy and working-dog instincts alongside the Cavalier's companion-dog traits.
Their ideal homes will be willing to provide:
Time and companionship: Puppies need company, interaction and gradual training to become comfortable spending time alone.
Training and boundaries: Positive reinforcement, consistency and patience will help them develop into well-mannered adult dogs.
Mental stimulation: Sniffing games, food puzzles, training and enrichment will help keep their clever minds busy.
Exercise appropriate to their age: Their needs will change as they grow, with opportunities for play, exploration and walks when age-appropriate.
Ongoing socialisation and exposure: Positive, controlled introductions to people, dogs, sounds and new environments.
*Finding the Right Match
We don't believe in simply matching a puppy to the first available home. We want to get to know prospective adopters, their lifestyle, existing pets and what they are hoping for in a dog so we can help find the most suitable match. Although Mum is a lower-energy dog, we cannot guarantee that her puppies will have the same temperament or exercise requirements. The Cattle Dog influence may mean some puppies are more active, independent or driven than others. If you are interested in welcoming one of these little characters into your family, please get in touch and tell us a little about yourself, your household, your experience with dogs and the kind of companion you are looking for.
Expressions of interest are now open, with puppies ready to leave for their new homes at 8 weeks of age.
We look forward to getting to know their potential families and helping these lovely pups find the right homes.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
