About Char Lee SUA015673
Meet Char Lee, a stunning Siamese gentleman with beautiful eyes, a sensitive soul and an enormous amount of love to give. Life has not been particularly kind to this gorgeous boy. After sadly losing his previous owner, Char Lee found himself at CPS, where he struggled to adjust to the unfamiliar surroundings and changes in his life. Naturally very shy, Char Lee needs time, patience and understanding before he feels safe enough to let his beautiful personality shine. But once you've earned his trust, you will discover an incredibly affectionate companion who has so much love to share.
Char Lee is currently enjoying life in foster care, where he has formed a very special bond with his female foster carer. He has blossomed into quite the cuddle bug, happily throwing himself across her lap while she watches television, gazing lovingly into her eyes and showering her with purrs, kisses and plenty of kneading. He is not shy about letting his favourite person know when it's time for food, cuddles or more attention, and when he decides cuddle time isn't over, he will certainly make his feelings known! However, this affectionate side of Char Lee is reserved for someone he knows and trusts, and he remains very wary of other people.
Finding the right home for Char Lee is incredibly important. His ideal forever home would be with a single person who leads a quiet, calm and predictable life. A particularly peaceful two-person household may be considered, but Char Lee has shown that he is likely to form a strong attachment to just one special person. He needs someone who understands that building his trust may take weeks, possibly longer, and who will never rush or overwhelm him. A busy family environment is simply not for this sensitive soul, so a home without children, dogs or other cats is essential. Char Lee isn't looking for a house full of people to love; he's looking for that one special human who will become his whole world.
Char Lee also has a little something that makes him extra special – he is a three-legged wonder! He arrived at CPS with a non-functional left hind leg due to problems with his kneecap and hip, and the decision was made to amputate the affected limb. He has recovered beautifully and adapted remarkably well to life on three legs. He can occasionally lose his balance while grooming or taking a corner a little too enthusiastically, but that certainly doesn't stop him from enjoying life! For his safety, Char Lee must live 100% indoors, with access to a secure outdoor cat enclosure if available.
Char Lee has been through so much, and what he deserves now is a peaceful, loving home where he can finally feel safe and secure again. He may not be the cat who greets every visitor or shares his affection with everyone, but to his chosen person, he has the potential to be the most devoted and loving companion imaginable. If you have a quiet home, a gentle heart and the patience to let a very special boy fall in love with you at his own pace, Char Lee might just be waiting for you.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
