Some cats make themselves at home the moment they meet you. Others prefer to take their time, quietly getting to know you before deciding you've earned a place in their heart.

Shadow is very much the latter, and we think there's something rather lovely about that.

This handsome gentleman is a gentle, affectionate soul who might be a little reserved when you first meet him, but once you've earned his trust, you'll have a devoted companion who loves nothing more than being by your side.

And when we say by your side, we mean it! Whether you're curled up on the couch, relaxing in bed or simply enjoying a quiet evening, Shadow will happily keep you company, often with a little conversation of his own. He's quite the chatterbox once he's comfortable!

Don't let his laid-back nature fool you, though. Shadow still has a playful streak and is more than happy to indulge in a game when the mood strikes.

He's also wonderfully independent, equally content enjoying a peaceful snooze indoors or spending some time exploring outside. But when you arrive home? Expect a friendly greeting, a request for affection and, naturally, a gentle reminder that dinner isn't going to serve itself!

The secret to Shadow's heart? A little patience and a lot of kindness.

New people and unfamiliar surroundings can make him nervous, so he'll need someone who understands that building trust takes time. Give him the space to settle in at his own pace, and you'll discover a loving, chatty and loyal companion who has so much affection to share.

Shadow isn't looking to be the life of the party.

He's looking to be someone's favourite part of coming home.
