**Assisted Rehome** Mack is being rehomed through our assisted rehoming program. Mack is a very loved member of his family who has only ever known love. Due to unforeseen circumstances Mack is needing to find a new home.
Hi! My name is Mack.
I’m a big, beautiful boy who has left those crazy puppy days behind me, although I still have plenty of personality. I’m loving, loyal, cuddly and completely convinced that I am the perfect size to be a lap dog. Apparently, my human disagrees, but I keep trying anyway!
I love being close to my people. Wherever you are, you can pretty much guarantee I won’t be too far away. And if you happen to be in the kitchen, I will be especially close. I have learned from experience that cheese can fall on the floor at any moment, and I believe somebody needs to be there to take care of it.
The Things I Love:
- The beach and open spaces to sniff.
- Take me to the off-leash beach or park and I am one very happy boy. I love exploring, but I don't like to wander too far from my person. I'll keep looking back and checking where you are because that's where I want to be.
- Big walks
- Going for drives in the car
- Sleeping on the couch
- Playing with my teddy
- Chewing on my horn
- Cuddles, lots of cuddles
- Following my favourite human around
And, obviously, cheese!
I'm a Clever Boy Too
I am completely house trained and I've got my basic commands sorted. I know things like sit and stay, and I can even show off with drop, paw, kiss, round and roll
My recall is ok... but I need to be honest with you about something.
If I see a cat, bird or something with wheels, sometimes my ears temporarily stop communicating with my brain! I have herding instincts, so bikes and scooters can be particularly tempting. I am easily redirected, but because I'm a big, strong boy, I need someone who is confident handling me and knows when keeping me on my lead is the best choice.
What Am I Like at Home?
I'm actually a pretty easy-going housemate.
I love company, but I can also be left on my own. I'll generally just sleep until you come back. At night I have my own bed on the floor inside and sleep soundly.
I would, however, like to formally advise my future family that I am perfectly happy to sleep in the human bed if there happens to be a vacancy. I have tried negotiating this arrangement many times. I'm fine going to the vet, I don't mind having a bath and I'm happy to be brushed. When I've decided I've had enough brushing, I'll let you know. Not a fan of having my nails cut but can be persuaded with cheese.
What Kind of Family Am I Looking For?
I love children and I've spent time with kids of all different ages. Because I'm a big boy, older children may suit me best simply because of my size. There are a couple of things I need to be upfront about: Cats and chickens aren't for me. I've always been an only dog and I'm quite happy with that arrangement. I could potentially live with another compatible dog around my size, but I certainly don't need another dog to be happy. What I really need is space, companionship and someone who has plenty of time for me.
I'm looking for:
Someone who will take me for big walks, bring me along for adventures, and let me snooze on the couch after we've finished.
Someone who understands my little quirks and my past.
Someone who will reassure me when I need it.
Someone who doesn't mind having a big furry shadow following them around the house.
And someone who will love me just as much as I have always been loved.
In return, you'll get a loyal, cuddly, funny boy who will absolutely adore you.
Love,
Mack
P.S. I'm still willing to discuss the sleeping-in-the-human-bed situation.
P.P.S. Please buy cheese.
