About Sage
Meet sage! 🌱
Sage has had a rough first year of life, arriving into foster care with deep holes in her neck from a shock collar. Matted & a very poor coat. She wasn’t allowed in the house, didn’t have much human interaction & was escaping daily due to boredom.
A few weeks into foster care and she’s a different dog! Now it’s her time to find a perfect forever home.
Get to know Sage!
* dog friendly, she loves her foster siblings and must be rehomed with another playful dog
* Settles well in the house for down time
* She loves fluffy beds & sleeping upside down after a long day
* Learns very quickly
* Very people & kid friendly, has improved massively on her jumping
* She waits well for her food & loves her food
* She isn’t suitable with cats or pocket pets as she’s a little too obsessed with them
* She enjoys long forest walks
Sage is a best girl, she is very cuddly & despite what she’s been through has the sweetest personality.
She copes well when left home alone with another dog, she hasn’t tried to jump the 6 foot fence she’s currently in. She sleeps well in a crate overnight however becomes extremely stressed when left alone in a crate. She does best with male dogs as she can be dominant to some females.
Sage has been diagnosed with medial shoulder instability by a Specialist Veterinary Surgeon. She has undergone both X-rays and a CT scan, which have ruled out elbow dysplasia and several other potential conditions.
Her condition will be managed conservatively by continuing to build and strengthen the muscles around her shoulder, alongside joint supplements to support her long-term joint health.
The good news is that this doesn’t mean Sage can’t enjoy an active life! With the right management and ongoing care, she can still go on to live a long, happy and fulfilling life. ❤️
We want to be completely transparent about Sage’s diagnosis so her future family understands her needs, but we also don’t want it to overshadow the beautiful dog she is and everything she has to offer.
