About Hammer
Meet Hammer – Our Little Character Looking for His Forever Home ❤️
Breed: Skye Terrier
Age: Almost 10 years old
Meet Hammer! This gorgeous older gentleman may be approaching his golden years, but he certainly hasn't lost his personality!
Hammer is a big character with a big heart. He absolutely loves people, enjoys attention and affection, and is always happy to receive a good fuss and plenty of cuddles. He's also very dog-friendly and gets along well with other dogs.
He's not a lapdog due to his size, but he'll happily be your loyal companion and keep you company. Hammer isn't looking for an adventurous, high-energy lifestyle either. He's a low-exercise kind of guy who is much more interested in enjoying the simple things in life.
A little about Hammer's health and personality:
Hammer has previously had heartworm, so his medical history and ongoing health requirements will need to be discussed with his potential new family.
As a Skye Terrier, Hammer has a long back and short legs, which means a little extra care is needed to protect his spine. His new family must understand the importance of preventing him from jumping on and off furniture, using stairs excessively, or doing anything that could put unnecessary strain on his back.
Hammer also has a strong terrier personality and isn't afraid to communicate when something doesn't suit him. He may growl or snap if he feels uncomfortable or doesn't like something. It's important that his new owner understands dog body language, respects his boundaries and knows how to handle these behaviours appropriately.
An experienced owner is essential. We are looking for someone with previous dog ownership experience, ideally with terriers, who understands that Hammer has his own opinions and needs a patient, confident and respectful approach. He would not be suited to a first-time dog owner.
What Hammer is looking for:
We are searching for a special forever retirement home where Hammer can spend his senior years being loved, spoilt and cherished.
Someone who is home regularly, enjoys having a furry companion around, and understands the needs of an older dog would be perfect.
Hammer has so much love to give. He doesn't need a big backyard or endless adventures – just a comfortable bed, a loving family, some gentle walks, plenty of pats and a place to call home.
Could you be the one to give this lovely boy the retirement he deserves? ❤️
