~*OWNER ASSISTED ADOPTION*~
🐾💗 MEET MAISIE 💗🐾
Meet Maisie, and yes, she comes pre-monogrammed! This gorgeous tabby/tortie girl rocks the classic “M” stamped right on her head, because clearly even the universe knew her name before we did. She also goes by Maisie Bean, Miss Beans, and Measles.
Nature
Maisie is a confident, affectionate girl once she settles in, and she settles in on her own terms. Expect a proper welcome-home routine: circles round your ankles, headbutts, purrs, meows, and the full biscuit-making treatment, especially if there’s a fluffy blanket or an Oodie around.
Once she’s comfortable, she struts around with her tail straight up like she owns the place (because she does), and will happily plonk herself down for belly and chest scritches, dragging herself along the carpet, front paws crossed like she’s landed the perfect wrestling hold.
She used to play fetch with a crinkle ball in one of her many kitten phases, and she’s obsessed with catnip and silvervine. She’s also surprisingly good for nail trims when cradled like a baby in your lap, the odd wriggle and empty-threat growl aside.
She’s quite happy being picked up, messed with and held almost any which way. She’ll let you know she’s done by getting the wriggles. She loves to sploot out real flat and is a big fan of staring out the window for hours on end. A quirky girl, she once used to “help” with the dishes by sticking her paws in the running water.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Children: Maisie has been supervised around a toddler and a baby but wasn’t a huge fan. She prefers to remove herself from the noise rather than engage, so she’d suit a quieter or older-kid household best.
Dogs: Unlikely to be a match, although she’s never been introduced to her K9 counterparts.
Cats: Maisie can live with other cats but needs the right introduction and a slow, structured process. She’s successfully adjusted to kittens in the past (some initial hissing before settling into peaceful coexistence, with occasional play).
She’s currently housed with two adult male cats who haven’t acclimated well due to rushed introductions and separate feeding, with no positive associations built. This has led to ongoing tension.
With a proper slow introduction (scent swapping, separate spaces, positive reinforcement before face-to-face contact), she has shown she can get there. A single-cat home or a patient household willing to do introductions properly would suit her best.
Likes / Dislikes
💗 Catnip, silvervine, belly and chest scritches, greeting her people, playing in water bowls, and being the main character.
❌ Being rushed into new relationships (feline or otherwise), and toddlers invading her personal space.
My PURR-fect home would be one with people who’ll happily soak up my hellos and give me the affection that I love to give back. I’d do best as an only cat, or in a calm household ready to take cat introductions slow and steady. A quieter home without young children or dogs will let my true confident, cuddly self shine.
Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.
