About Missy
Meet Missy! 🐾
Missy is a 2-year-old Chihuahua girl who is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. She appears to have had very limited life experience, and as a result, she has quite a bit of learning and confidence building ahead of her.
Missy can be frightened of people she doesn't know and will bark in an attempt to scare them away. She can also be quite vocal when she hears unfamiliar noises or something she isn't sure about. She needs a patient home that understands her fears and is prepared to help her work through them at her own pace.
Once you're in her inner circle, you'll discover a very different little character! Missy absolutely loves attention and has a rather enthusiastic way of asking for it – expect to be enthusiastically smacked with her little paws when she wants some love! She also loves sitting on your lap, so once you've earned her trust, you'll have a little companion who enjoys being close to her favourite people. ❤️
Things Missy enjoys:
* Walks: She loves getting out and about and walks beautifully on lead.
* Food: She is very food motivated, which will be a huge bonus when it comes to training.
* Other dogs: She gets along well with other dogs once she has had time to get to know them.
* Cats: She is good with confident cats.
* Lap time: She loves sitting on your lap and soaking up attention from her trusted people.
Missy would benefit greatly from living with a confident, small male dog who can help show her the ropes and provide some reassurance as she settles into her new life.
Missy will need a home committed to her ongoing education. She has had very little training and currently has no recall. She will need plenty of patient, consistent, positive reinforcement training, along with significant confidence building and gentle exposure to new people, places and experiences.
This isn't a girl who will simply settle in and have everything figured out. Her new family will need to be prepared to put in the time, effort and dedication to help her become a more confident and comfortable little dog. She will need guidance, structure and understanding, rather than being pushed into situations she finds overwhelming.
The home Missy needs:
Missy is looking for a patient and committed home that understands her insecurities and is willing to work with her. A home with a confident small male dog would be ideal, though she is also happy on her own. Her people will need to appreciate that building trust and confidence will take time, and that progress may come in little steps.
In return, once Missy decides you're her person, you'll be rewarded with a funny, affectionate little Chihuahua who loves her walks, loves her food and loves nothing more than sitting on your lap and demanding attention!
Missy has plenty of potential, but she needs someone willing to help her find her confidence and show her just how wonderful life can be. 🐾
