Tassie *On Trial*

*tassie is currently trialling his new home* meet fun-loving tassie!! he’s looking for a new forever home as sadly his adoring owner’s life situation has taken a turn for the worse and she has to move into a unit so we’ve promised to find somewhere special for her beloved tas!

tassie is a friendly, happy, bouncy boy who really loves life! he got his name as he looked like a tasmanian devil when he was a puppy and it certainly suits, especially when he’s in a spin playing with one of his much loved toys! loveable tassie get gets along well with other friendly dogs, he’s been well socialised, and he likes cats though can be a bit rough when he wants to play with them and they don’t! he’s great with children though better with the older ones rather than toddlers who he may accidentally bowl over in his exuberance. Having intelligent working dog genes tassie is a bright boy who knows his name and will “come”, “sit”, “shake” and “beg” when asked. He will “wait” for dinner or treats; even when the food is right under his nose he will not touch it until he hears the command “you can have it”. Loveable tassie does get rather excited when he first meets you and will jump up so his new owner will need to be consistent with the “down” command although all you need to do is pick up a ball and he’ll sit at attention coz tassie’s most favourite thing in the whole world is a good game of fetch……. Or if you don’t want to play he’ll happily play soccer on his own, pushing the ball around with his nose or tossing it in the air, he’s easily pleased!!

due to her own shoulder injury, tassie’s owner hasn’t been able to walk him regularly for some time now so he may need some lead training again in his new home as we reckon he'll be very excited on his first walk. He isn’t licky but if he does try then use the “no kisses” command as it will put a stop to that and he isn’t a noisey dog though he will give a warning bark when he feels it’s necessary. Adorable tassie would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with a friendly doggie companion to play with or on his own but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially during his settling in period. A secure yard, daily walks, ongoing obedience training, bones to chew on and toys to keep him stimulated would make tassie very happy indeed!
