About Clara
Clara is a sweet but nervous girl who is still learning that the world can be a safe and positive place. With limited exposure to new experiences, she will need a patient and understanding home that can give her the time, space, and guidance she needs to build confidence at her own pace.
In her new home, Clara will benefit from a hands-off approach initially, allowing her to settle in and form trust without pressure. As she becomes more comfortable, gentle positive interactions and reward-based training will help her gradually gain confidence around people and handling.
Clara would be best suited as the only dog in the household, as she is not comfortable around other dogs. One of Clara's greatest strengths is her love of food, making her highly motivated and an excellent candidate for positive reinforcement training.
With patience, consistency, and understanding, Clara has the potential to blossom into a confident and rewarding companion. Her ideal family will celebrate the small wins, move at her pace, and provide the support she needs to thrive.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is designed to match you with the right pet, the first time. Our team are experts at rehoming animals who have specific needs that match your lifestyle, to ensure every adoption placement will last a lifetime.
At our Peninsula site, adoption hours are 12pm – 4pm. You are welcome to attend our reception office without an appointment to begin our adoption process during adoption hours.
The adoption areas are not free to walk through, and you will need to chat with our staff to confirm that a potential adoption is a good match.
Once the adoption has been discussed, a staff member will facilitate a walk-through of the adoption areas or have an animal brought to you in a greeting area.
