Meet Dusk
An old soul in a youngsters body!
Dusk is a charming gentleman who likes to take his time getting to know people, but once you've earned his trust, you'll discover a wonderfully affectionate boy who's more than happy to make himself at home in your personal space! He might need a little encouragement to come out of his shell, but it doesn't take long before he's leaning into pats, seeking attention and reminding you that your lap looks suspiciously empty and he'd be more than happy to fix that! He's got a playful side too, particularly when his favourite humans are involved, but he's equally content pottering about, investigating his surrounds or settling down for a well-deserved snooze. His training is still a work in progress, although he has an understanding of sit and is quite happy to negotiate his cooperation in exchange for a tasty treat.
Dusk is looking for a home where he can enjoy the finer things in life: indoor comforts, plenty of affection and a family who appreciates an old soul with a whole lot of love to give. When it comes to other dogs, Dusk is fairly selective about his social circle. Otherwise, he'd be happiest as the only dog, or matched with another small, calm housemate. He's also open to meeting children and would suit a family looking for a low-maintenance fellow who's happiest spending time with his people.

Post Adoption Life:
With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
