Meet Chicken,
Don't let the name fool you — there's nothing chicken about this girl! Chicken is super social who believes everyone is a potential new best friend, and she's not afraid to make the first move! She's affectionate, playful and always happy to squeeze in a cuddle or two. She's also a big fan of toys, enjoys a good play session and has a rather impressive talent for making herself the centre of attention without even trying. When it comes to other dogs, Chicken is quite the social butterfly! She's been known to throw out a cheeky play bow to get the party started, and she plays with all the enthusiasm of a big puppy. But don't worry, this girl knows when to give her four-legged friends a little breathing room, too!
Chicken is a clever little nugget with plenty of potential, although her obedience skills are still a little... undercooked! She has a rough idea of what 'sit' means, but whether she actually does it is another story. Luckily, she's highly food motivated, so with some tasty treats, positive reinforcement and ongoing training, she'll have plenty of opportunities to get those manners extra crispy. She's a relaxed girl who can entertain herself and is open to meeting children of all ages making her a lovely candidate for a (free) range of homes.
Sweet, social and just the right amount of silly — Chicken is ready to fly the coop and find her flock!

Post Adoption Life:
With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
