Crinkle

Crinkle is a gentle little soul with a surprisingly serious passion for creamy treats. In fact, he gets so excited about them that he sometimes forgets the plastic tube isn't part of the meal!

This gorgeous black-and-white fluffy boy might be shy, but underneath that cautious exterior is a sweet little character who's slowly learning that people can bring some pretty wonderful things.

Crinkle arrived at our shelter as a stray, and the unfamiliar environment has been quite overwhelming for him. When he's frightened, he tends to freeze and stay very still, hoping the world will settle down around him. But give him a little time, approach gently and offer something tasty, and you'll start to see a different side of him. He's been leaning into gentle pats, enjoying head scratches and giving those lovely slow blinks that show he's beginning to feel comfortable. It's a beautiful little change from the boy who was initially too nervous to move.

Crinkle is still sensitive to sudden noises and unfamiliar movements. Even when he's enjoying affection, something unexpected can send him retreating to his safe spot. The encouraging part is that he's shown he can find the courage to approach again, especially when there's a familiar person and a favourite treat waiting for him. He doesn't need anyone to rush him. He just needs someone who understands that feeling safe comes first.

At two and a half years old, Crinkle deserves the chance to discover life beyond the shelter. A quiet, predictable home, a cosy hiding place and a patient family who can let him settle at his own pace would make such a difference. His beautiful medium-length coat will also need regular gentle grooming to keep it looking and feeling its best, once he's comfortable with being brushed.

Crinkle might not be the cat who runs straight up to greet you, but there's something incredibly special about the moment he decides it's safe enough to lean into your hand. He's already showing us those little moments of trust, and we'd love to see how much further he can blossom in a home of his own.
