About Franklin
Meet Franklin!
Franklin is a handsome 5 month 3 week-old boy who is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. He can be quite frightened when first settling into a new environment, so he'll need a patient and understanding family who is happy to let him find his feet at his own pace. But with a little time and reassurance, Franklin has shown there's a sweet, playful boy waiting beneath that initial nervousness!
His foster carer found that Franklin spent his first 4-5 days feeling scared and keeping to himself. However, once Franklin began to feel a little more comfortable, he began venturing out for pats and playtime! He even had licky treats from their hand, and enjoyed ear and chin scratches. Since then, he totally came out of his shell: he enjoyed exploring the home; coming to say hello for attention; and eventually became comfy enough to sit (at a slight distance). This is such a lovely glimpse into Franklin's personality and how much progress he can make when he's given time and space to feel safe.
Franklin may take time to settle in, and his new family will need to be comfortable allowing him to hide when he needs to, explore at his own pace and approach for pats when he feels ready. His family will need to appreciate the little milestones along the way, from watching him confidently explore, to seeing him choose play nearby or approach for pats as his trust grows.
At just 5 months 3 weeks, Franklin still has so much growing and learning ahead of him. With a calm environment and gentle encouragement, we know Franklin will blossom into a lovely companion.

Franklin is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
